“The site was not an alternative way to take the Day One update and customers still need to connect to Xbox Live for the update,” said a spokesperson in regards to pulling the offline update. The Emergency Offline Update USB patch mirrors have been pulled by the company, as some users were reporting that their Xbox Ones were being banned upon install of the update from the USB stick. Microsoft initially had some USB updates that could be downloaded onto a USB device for those of you who did not readily have Internet access for the Xbox One launch, which requires a System Update before you can dive into the logistics of the system itself.
